Ms. Vicky Lim was appointed as the first Director of Psalm USA by the Board of Directors last November 10, 2012.

In line with her recent appointment, she went to visit some churches and individuals both in Nevada and California to initiate them on the mission-vision of Psalm USA and partnering in the mission of P.S.A.L.M. in the Philippines' campus ministry. 

The first opportunity to share was through a Speak Team composed of Psalmy Barbaso and Oscar Balatbat who was also the speaker/messenger for the morning worship in a church in downtown Las Vegas last November 11, 2012.  In the afternoon, Ms. Lim also spoke in a gathering of friends in the residence of host Mr. Raul Ibasco where the latest PSALM audiovisual presentation was shown.

    From Las Vegas, Ms. Lim traveled to Los Angeles in the company of Heidi Gimotea and her family, along with Ms. Lilian Pada.  The first stop was Manteca, California where Rev. Abednego Ferrer and his wife Eden are ministering to Filipino families.  That Sunday the PSALM promotional video was presented to their church and people were blessed with what they saw, heard and learned.  As a result Pastor Ferrer offered to partner with Psalm 

USA in training their Youth ministry leaders on how to use PSALM's Caring Circle lessons and other Team Building materials.  The next stop was a visit to Rev. Ralph Pada and his family in Carson, California.  Again the audio-visual presentation was shared.  He was happy to know that the ministry which was part of his youth in CYC Zamboanga has grown .

    From Carson, Ms. Lim and Lilian Pada were met by Rev. Hernan Pada who drove and brought them to the residence of Toto and Nona Antonio in Eagle Rock, Los Angeles. The couple hosted their stay in the area. 

    From November 23rd , opportunities opened and the privilege to speak in some of the Filipino congregations started. One of which is the Filipino International Fellowship founded by Rev. Edgar Florendo.  The next opportunity was in the Church on the Way headed by Pastor Romy and last but not the least, the Alliance Bible Church where Rev. Steve Gusto is the Senior Pastor. A happy reunion of old friends transpired as Ms. Celia and Abdec Lacanaria, and other old acquaintances who are active members of that congregation were around to meet them. 

    Prior to Ms Lim's departure from the United States, she returned to Las Vegas and was able to meet with some Pastors from the Las Vegas area through the help of an alumnus Sanee Lacson. A special lunch hosted by Psalm USA President Grace Carey was prepared for the occasion and again the promotional audio-visual presentation was shown. Ms. Lim spoke about the present situation of the campus ministry in the Philippines and gave updates about the ministry.

    From all the meetings and visitation that transpired, discussions about partnering were discussed. Most of the churches are interested to follow the model of PSALM and use PSALM's materials for their youth ministry. They are also looking at ways to help or assist PSALM financially. Pastor Hexel Hernando, who is currently serving as Associate Pastor under the music ministry department of Green Valley Baptist Church even suggested a possible Philippine Tour of their musical group in the near future in partnership with Psalm USA. Plans on the first Training session in Las Vegas are being discussed and this will be towards the end of the first quarter of 2013.

    When Psalm USA started in 2011, the thought about organizing the alumni for the purpose of assisting or helping the ministry in the Philippines was the focal point but with the way things and events are happening, there is the leading of the Lord to do more than what was initially envisioned.  May God be praised and glorified!
